Hard to see in the photos but
her mane had to go *sob*

So many picture fails & awkward poses in this post.
Enjoyz ;-)
I sure hope I can get cracking at getting us all back to into shape *happy-dance*
Hard to tell of the clips are even on both sides for both girls, but way I see it...no one can look at both sides of the horse at once & they are close enough for me lolz

Parting shot...

How wild my girls are during clipping, no drugs needed - this is just how they roll.
(LINK to 2012 post of Kika in a similar pose) ☺

    1. Thanks, here's hoping she doesn't decide this is the winter to unearth some sillies as I'll have no mane to grab in case of emergency :-/

    1. You're very kind to say, have to put them (and myself) back to work and build up some muscle tone

  7. Lovely clip jobs! :) PS - Gavin has been rocking the roached look since mid-summer. I might be in the minority here, but I think some horses look great with a roached mane! Nancy totally has enough neck to pull it off!

    1. Aw thanks girl, hoping with some more continuous roding i can help her muscles become refined & defined.

G-man is amazeballs, he could rock a paper bag & look awesome ♡

  8. I think she looks kind of fancy with no mane! She's got a nice enough neck to rock that look!

    1. I sadly have no choice but to clip. I can only ride after work during the week and 10 minutes walking with Kika would have her sweating if not clipped as she is sure a wolly mammoth *sigh*

    1. I'm so lucky that both girls stand like statues for clipping - no sedation required.
      Truly a blessing!

  14. You finally chopped Nancy's mane off?? I'm kind of excited, but sad too lol. I can't wait to see how she looks with a mohawk. I was sad to cut Chrome's mane off, but to be honest I don't think I'd go back to a full mane even if he could grow one. He looks great in a mohawk. :D

P.S. I'm finally getting caught back up on blogs. Sorry I've been gone so long!

    1. No worries, I've been a terrible blogger so it shouldn't have taken you too long to catch up ;-)

As much as I love her longer mane and am digging the mohawk...summer will be the real test as to how her hair future will go

  15. It was her rug rubbing it out right? So you can grow it out over the summer. It's the opposite of Chrome. He rubs his out because of the sweet itch in the summer and I let it grow out in the winter lol.

    1. She rubbed it out during the summer. We did have a crazy hot one by our standards last year. I'm going to keep an eye on her this summer as i know Friesian can be prone to sweet itch. I'm hoping the shorter mane will help but we'll have to wait and see what if anything comes of all this...

    2. Oh I remember now because I remember being really sad about it and hoping she doesn't have sweet itch too because it's an absolute nightmare. Hopefully it was something else bugging her and she won't do it again this year. *fingers crossed*
