Crazy?

Am i Horse crazy or just plain crazy?

I may need my head examined after getting soaked changing the fencing on the girls paddock in a downpour with a sprinkling of thunder and lightning...

Sky just before the heavens opened this evening
I have been waiting for rain for the last week and a half as the ground was way too hard for me to drive the plastic stakes.

Nancy keeps an eye on me as Kika cozies up to N for her tail/fly-swat
I hope the girls don't spend the night stuffing themselves and get tummy aches 😕

Fingers crossed!

Photos are from Tuesday night as I picked 7 wheelbarrows of poop from other half of the field. I shall have to finish cleaning that side and collect whatever offerings they give me on new half of field.

PS: Kika's liver got the all clear from the vet so phew!

  3. Glad to hear about the clean bill of health on Kika. She's looking trimmer, too!

Pretty sure if you were out there driving stakes in a minor lightning storm, you crazy. I still love you, but you're crazy. ;)

    1. Good crazy though...right? ;-)
She may no longer be looking trimmer when I climb back on board tomorrow or day after as they now have access to new grass

  4. I'm glad Kika got the all clear!!! Also please don't be outside when there is lightning.... I heard of someone recently who was riding and got struck by lightning. She and the horse both died. :-(

    1. I wouldn't normally be that reckless, but when I started fencing it wasn't raining. When it did start i couldn't stop half way done or they'd have hurt themselves with a stake or badly hung wire...

Glad I got it done last night though as it has been dry all day and forecast to be dry for the coming days - which will harden the ground so if I'd waited I could never have hoped to drive the stakes.

Thankfully nothing went wrong but it is not something I plan to make a habit of

    2. Yeah in that situation I probably would have done the same thing. It is something to be careful about though. I'm glad nothing went wrong and that you got the fence done. :D
