This is a work in progress list as it is super hard to come up with 30 things that
(a) i want to do in the next 12 - ahem 10 months...clock is ticking eep!!!!
and
(b) striking a balance between challenging myself and achievability! (yes blogger this is now a word, deal with it)
All credit for idea & super logo goes to Lauren @shemovedtotexas |
1. Meet as many blogger peeps as I can
(I will add to my Bucket List, not limit myself to a 10-12 month window)
LINK - not my image |
2. Do 100 sit ups a day - every day!
A six pack for my 30th would be awesome! I found the above workout option on Google - will see if i can do half those things *squeals-with-glee/groans-at-the-work-involved*
My current uber-classy key situtaion |
3. Get keys to my very own apartment
4. Furnish & move in to said flat
As you know - so far i only have a couch ordered...no other furniture sourced yet.
For more info - LINK - to blogpost in case you missed it |
5. Ride more during the week
6. Go on a riding trip to Iceland
I have a brochure for this place - LINK (not my image) |
7. Visit Aachen (Germany)/Saut Hermes (France)/Hickstead (UK) and/or RDS (Dublin)
The latter two are consecutive weeks I might have to pick one or the other - because fincances *weep*

8. Go to Badminton or Burghley for top tier 3-Day Eventing viewing awesomeness
9. Go to as many Global Champion Tours as i can get to (read:afford)
How class would this be - again not my image LINK |
10. Start learning to drive Nancy
Ex-YO (current YO's father and a grandson) have carriage horses and often run driving clinics. I must inform myself on these and see what would be involved in such an endevour
Commissioned from the wonderfully talented @photosandsketches |
11. Commission a sketch of Nancy to frame for apartment decor as i have two of Kika! #noshame
12. See my uni friends in Ireland - it has been way too long!
13. Take monthly conformation shots of girls to chart progress - if any (Starting January 2015)
14. Get professional photog pics of girls and/or actually learn to use my Canon properly
not my image - LINK |
15. Do at least one Dressage Anywhere test on either girl, preferably multiple tests on both
16. Sign up for a weekly lesson once I get used to loss of mortgage repayment every month from my salary and other independence related charges #fear #grownupproblems
Not my media as i have ZERO art skills - LINK |
17. Get car out of the garage & actually drive it!
#shame I may bought a car third hand (with my parents help) from a friend of mine in December last year and I may have had said car in my parents garage since then failing to sort out insurance until last month and now the car won't start so i have to find a mechanic that will come to the house to fix it so i can take it through car testing & get it back on the road. What can I say, out of sight out of mind - the garage is somewhere i rarely go! *blush*
18. Do driving requirement for full license (compulsory training day to "prepare" new drivers for adverse weather conditions etc in secure environment - happen to cost a pretty penny & did I mention it is obligatory?! What a racket!)
Gratuitous Baby Nancy pic - because why not?! |
19. Research Kika & Nancy's bloodlines & siblings
20. Go back to Equitana Germany
21. Learn to put Polo Wraps on horses and then of course buy all the matchy-matchy thingz
22. Increase blog interaction by posting more
I love getting and replying to comments, which is why i moderate them - so that i see all comments coming in and I don't miss out on the opportunity to reply to someone. I am not sure if there was a captcha or something as well before a comment could be posted, if there was i think i removed it...if not please let me know and I will fidget with the things behind the scenes and settings etc again.
23. Contact Kika's breeder for baby pics and background info on her & siblings/family tree - Linked to #19
24 - to 30 TBD
I am open to suggestions to help fill the final few slots on my list. I know this is quite equine heavy oriented, but with the mahoosive expense of the apartment and furnishing the sucker from scratch I have to try to financially limit my expectations while keeping the goals achievable, motivational & challenging.
Plus with two horses being a substantial and established drain on my finances and time, yet 100% adored & needed for my own sanity and well being, it is really no surprise that they figure so prominently in my plans for my immediate future ☺
I have also created a new page to list everything more neatly and will update - tick things off there if/and when I achieve them...fingers crossed! LINK
Thank you so much to Lauren for coming up with this ingenious idea - it deff makes turning the big 3-0 less daunting and more fun...or maybe I'm weird.
Although as it stands i am not yet worried about turning 30 next year. I am still very much in the "age-is-just-a-number" camp and am yet to start worrying about it. Hopefully I don't have a freakout as I do honestly believe age is but a number...we shall have to see how long that feeling of serenity lasts as the day draws nearer ;-)

I am 30 in 10 months too! Sounds like you have some great things on your to-do list. Might have to do one of my own :)
ReplyDeleteDoooooo!
DeleteWe can encourage each other and face the "scary" ageing process together ☺
I had no idea we are the same age! I turn 30 next year too! :D
DeleteYay more people to share the joy/fear ☺
DeleteThis is a great list!! I am with you on taking monthly conformation pics to chart progress next year- what a good idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks hun, I thought my list might be a little light but i do only have 10 months to try and accomplish it all in!
DeleteHopefully I remember to take pics. I dunno would it better to take pics at the start or the end of the month - prob doesn't make a difference; and let's be honest I am unlikely to manage to snap pix on the same date every month! Lol
Glad I can help tick one off!
ReplyDeleteMakes it all the more super special that you'll be the first!!!!!
DeleteSQUEEE
I think you should add "go to sBs Selection show" to #7 and knock out a #1 at the same time. ;)
ReplyDeleteI do need a #23 and it is never too early to window shop for boyfriends for the girls. Perhaps you can help me scout as you'll be there longer and can point me in the right direction - plus if i manage to get the monthly conformation shots we could narrow it down to stallions that will balance out my girls bad points and better yet improve them!
DeleteSo far it looks like I'll be in France on the 3rd and in Belgium the 4th through the 8th. Probably farm tours on the 5th-6th, selection show/breeder meet-and-greet on the 7th and 8th, fly out on the 9th. We will mostly be in some town in Belgium that starts with an N whose name I have totally forgotten already lol.
DeleteNamur would be my guess, I think it's the nearest city to Gesves.
DeleteThat is so exciting, I am delighted you get to go. Visiting stallion farms sounds like an amazingly fun way to spend a vacation in my book - but i am biased i guess ;-)
Are you scouting for future Sadie baby-daddy's or potential exports for your friends breeding farm (where Sadie is?)
great list!! i would LOVE to go to Burghley... would be sooo cool! and definitely want to get on the monthly confo shot bandwagon too. (and you just reminded me that i'm 11 months out myself... boo).
ReplyDeleteWe're all a fantabulously vintage generation ☺
DeleteI love your list! I'm sadly already over 30 (not even sure how that happened, but I did the math and it's true!?) I still have a bucket list that includes many of the same items as yours though :)
ReplyDeleteI have a Bucket list too of longterm goals, any i fail at within the year will be added to BL alongside whatever else I dream up ;-)
DeleteThat's a great list. I think I would have a hard time coming up with 30 things!
ReplyDeleteI have struggled, as evidenced by my incomplete list ;-)
DeleteI am also slightly limited in the grandeur of my goals due to financing the flat & running out of time if i didn't post something soon lolz
ooo good ones! I have already hit that mark (shhhh....) but i think i would add 'get amazing/perfect picture' of either me and my horses, maybe in action, maybe just something with them. I dunno, but an amazing professional photo that blows me away and inspires me every time i see it.(oh, and i bet you could find someone like a student or a friend working on their portfolio to help you--if you don't already have said uberpic. not financially draining)
ReplyDeleteAs Lauren said on her 30 b4 30 post which kickstarted the list for me.
DeleteOf we don't age we die - sorry not trying to be morbid but i don't think being over a certain age is something to keep a secret.
I hope to age with pride and maybe some day mature too and actually feel like a grown up ;-)
Damn I even read that... sigh. Sorry!
DeleteHaha no worries lots of info up there, easy for things to slip through the cracks ☺
Deleteooo good list! i already hit that mark (shhh....) maybe include a perfect picture of you and your girls, or maybe just them? but that picture that is just everything and inspires you each time you see it.
ReplyDelete#14 on the list ☺
DeleteFingers crossed!!!
Sorry for double post. Thank Google.
DeleteI love hearing from people so please never apologise for posting!
DeleteAachen? I'm not far: ) I'm going to go to Equitana for my first time in March. I don't quite understand how the ticketing works - I think you have to buy a ticket for a specific day, and weekends are very full I hear. Can you explain it to me?
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I can't as a friend arranged it all when I went 2 years ago.
DeleteI will ask and get back to you. Perhaps we could meet up if we end up there the same day!
I'm so excited you made your list!! Only ten months to complete it is going to be super exciting and difficult, but you can do it!!! I've been working on my thirty before thirty list for three years now I think. Maybe four years. I guess building our house really slowed me down and killed my finances to be able to complete them. Do you read my other blog? I've been tracking my thirty before thirty list on it. The link to the label is here http://myfarmerlife.blogspot.com/search/label/30%20Before%2030 I probably should have cross posted everything to Chrome's blog since a lot of mine are horse related too, but I didn't think about it. So since a lot of people don't read my other blog they've probably missed all of my thirty before thirty updates. Oh well. I look forward to following along on your list and I hope I can meet you someday and help you fulfill that one!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I did read your list and saw all that you've achieved. Tick tick now eh? ;-)
DeleteUgh yes! It is coming down to the wire and the pressure is mounting! Especially since so much of it is just not winter stuff. :)
DeleteOh by the way I meant to mention, you can allow the comments to be posted and still get emails when someone posts. That's how I have mine set up. The comments go through as soon as they are made, but I still get an email for each of them so I never miss a comment. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Here is my full bucket list if you need ideas. http://myfarmerlife.blogspot.com/p/bucket-list.html
Oooooooh shall look into that, thanks!!
DeleteYou're welcome! I hope it helps. I have it organized with the horse stuff separate too so you don't have to go through all of it if you don't want to. :)
DeleteHad a poke about, you awesome goals and achieved some fab ones already ☺
