Patiently waiting for me to bring them in |
In saying that she was a very good girl, and listened a lot better then before. My eye was all kinds of out for striding but as always K saved my butt.
Nancy was next for only my second time jumping her & her third time jumping since she came to Lux. Initially we struggled with the jumping concept as I wasn't supporting her enough into the fence - I am too used to Kika's enthusiasm and not always waiting for my signal to take off...whereas Nancy needs that handholding. Great lessson for me & shows how much I let K cheat & decide things that are actually my decisions...hope to be able to work more on that next time I can jump.
The above photo was taken with the jumps at Nancy's height, K had a bigger red cross & slightly higher spread.
Sorry for poor post, but am sitting at train station waiting to go to Brussels to fly back to Ireland for a long Easter weekend.
How cool that the girls compliment each other so well, and you can learn so much from both. Back when Guinness was still jumping, he was a Kika. Opinionated, controlling, and very excited to get out there and jump!
ReplyDeleteThey are almost polar opposites, K is opinionated and a real mare that needs to be cajolled & convinced to do things whereas N is a people pleaser and gentle giant who tries her heart out.
DeleteIt's funny cos K is older, has more mileage & muscling; but as she thinks so much of herself, is too smart for me (really) and general fizziness can make her more finnickety to ride however so fsr N is a lot more maleable & listens really well to correction etc
Having two such different rides is great for you although I'm sure it is challenging. Glad you got to do some jumping!
ReplyDeleteIt is great to have the two of them, I learn so much fro both :-D
DeleteI wish I had the guts to sproing more - way to go! :) Enjoy your Easter in Ireland -- lucky!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could sproing more too as I love sproinging & so does K. Nancy is learning, not sure she's really made for it like K is but no harm in trying new things.
DeleteYay for jumping! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteThanks hun, it was so much fun!
DeleteHere's hoping I can squeeze some more air time in before this year is out - although it'll be Sept/October before we're back at the barn.
Yay!!!! What fun! Yep having two totally different horses can really help you grow as a rider. :D
ReplyDeleteThat is part of the plan & beauty of having them both - here's hoping i don't ruin the pair of them in my quest to better myself!
