Friday Fail - Conformation

I tried to nab some conformation photos of the girls on Wednesday evening for my 30 b4 30 monthly updates (i already missed out on taking the first ones in January oopsy) and the awesome BBS conformation critique is something I really wanna do with my monsters.

As good as it got - but far from square

However as you'll see from the fabulous fail photos i didn't quite manage to nab either girl standing square. A definite work in progress!

Downside to her Friesian blood - i hate when she stands under herself like this

    1. They would.look a lot better if i could string some consistent saddle time together - fingers crossed for the weekend and next week and the week after that etc ;-)
Thanks though hun, a bit of mane & tail TLC and things will look even better.

    1. They are pretty cute of i do say so myself (always have jay-z's voice in my head from queen B's XO song sorry ott). The clip jobs do a good job of masking lack of musculature & flabby bellies - although Kika has no probs letting it all hang out ;-)

    1. Thanks, not my handiwork although I think it possibly distracts nicely from a multitude of conformational flaws ;-)

    1. Not mine I'm afraid, stepping away from traditional lines can be fun especially when not showing ;-)

  10. Oh man I had a heck of a time getting my horses square for the bodyworker. I always mean to practice that but you really need two people and I'm always alone haha

    1. THIS - so this! Trying to halt a horse square alone is challenging...Then to step back to take a photo and they go to follow you, heart warming & heart breaking at the same time. So cute yet frustrating that re-positioning has to start over lolz

  13. Ugh Chrome stands under himself too! Actually these are fantastic conformation shots!! You don't want them standing square for conformation shots because then the offside legs are hidden from view. Behind the Bit did a fantastic post on taking nice conformation pictures http://www.behindthebitblog.com/2008/02/conformation-photos-tips-and-tricks.html Notice how she says to place the legs? Kika almost has it right, she just needs to move her right hind forward. They both are absolutely gorgeous by the way. :D
